Jellybean's Vision

We want to create the most engaging employee super app that's ever been made.

In 10 years we envision Jellybean to become an “Interoperable and de-facto” employee app

for any financial transaction between employee and an employer incl. Payroll.

What is Jellybean?

Jellybean is the awesome toolkit that supercharges workplace vibes. Think of it as your backstage pass to a workplace where every perk, benefit, and interaction is designed to make you feel like the star of the show. It offers personalized benefit plans, centralized management, and real-time insights to improve employee satisfaction and company ROI.

My Role

As the lead product designer for the Jellybean design system, I was responsible for driving the overall design direction and ensuring alignment with the product’s vision. I led the user research efforts, developed wireframes and prototypes, and collaborated closely with product managers, founders, and engineers to ensure technical feasibility. I played a pivotal role in developing the design system itself, translating user feedback into actionable design improvements. Key decisions I influenced included the choice of typography, the layout of key screens, and the overall design language of the system.

Research Analysis

Jellybean's approach is rooted in extensive research aimed at understanding the diverse needs and preferences of employees across various demographics. Through in-depth surveys, focus groups, and data analytics, we unearthed critical insights that shaped our product strategy and design decisions.

Pain Points

From our research and analysis, we've identified key pain points impacting both employers and employees. These pain points, which we were uncovered through user feedback and usability testing, highlight critical areas needing improvement for a more streamlined and engaging user experience. The identified pain points are as follows:

For Whom?

  • Organizations aiming to attract and retain talent through effective benefit programs.

  • HR teams burdened with managing diverse benefit needs without adequate tools.

  • Employees seeking personalized and accessible benefits that align with their preferences and life stages.

  • Companies looking to enhance overall employee satisfaction and productivity through tailored benefits.

Understanding the Problem Space

Jellybean was created to address a significant gap in the employee engagement tools market: the lack of a cohesive and scalable design system that could streamline user experience across multiple platforms. Our target audience consisted of mid-to-large enterprises seeking to enhance employee productivity through a unified and user-friendly interface. This project was initiated to develop a seamless design system that could evolve with the growing needs of our users.

Organizations struggle to personalize employee benefits due to HR bandwidth limitations and complex management processes, leading to low engagement, suboptimal ROI, and disengaged employees.

Go-To-Market (GTM)

Our go-to-market strategy included targeted marketing campaigns, onboarding support, and continuous engagement with early adopters. This approach helped us build momentum and ensure a successful launch. By focusing on industries with high attrition rates and large enterprise organizations, we were able to demonstrate the value of Jellybean’s personalized benefits and engagement platform.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Target: High attrition non-traditional industries.

  • Focus Markets: Mid-market & large enterprise organizations.

  • Focus Demographics: India, Southeast Asia, and MENA.

User Personas

Lets solve this......

Our Approach

We tackled the challenge head-on by creating a comprehensive platform that seamlessly integrates every aspect of employee engagement, ensuring no touchpoint is overlooked. Our solution is meticulously designed to cover all facets, providing an unparalleled and engaging experience for employees.

Initially, our soft launch product focused on claims and reimbursements. Subsequently, we expanded our product trajectory by adding an e-commerce store, events, and EAP in the next milestone. Later, we introduced rewards and recognition, as well as challenges in a gamified manner. Most recently, we consolidated everything into our all-in-one mobile app to ensure comprehensive coverage and provide the best possible employee experience.

Project Overview

In this role, I crafted the design and functionality of Jellybean, an employee benefits platform, for multiple project trajectory. As Founding Designer, I conducted user research, developed personas, created wireframes and high-fidelity designs, and incorporated feedback to improve user experience. Collaborating closely with the development team, I conducted usability testing and made necessary adjustments. Through this project, I learned the importance of user-centered design, effective collaboration, iterative testing, and project management, ensuring a successful and meaningful design outcome.
